Assigning a work order sends a team member an in-app notification for that job. Employees default to an 'Assigned To Me' view when they open the jobs list, making it easy to focus on their active work.
How to assign a work order
Assignments are managed from the Manager Dashboard. Each work order card has an Assign button.
- 1Go to the Manager Dashboard
- 2Find the work order and tap Assign
- 3Select one or more team members from the list
- 4Tap Confirm — selected team members are now assigned and notified
Assigning multiple people
You can assign any number of team members to a single work order. Each assignee can independently log hours and add notes. This is useful for multi-day jobs where different crew members work on different days.
What assignees can see
Assigned employees can see the full job details — scope description, job address, client contact info, activity log, and all team members' logged hours. They cannot see billing information or invoice details.
Changing assignments
You can update assignments at any time, including after a job is in progress. Open the Assign modal from the Manager Dashboard, adjust your selections, and confirm. Previously logged activity remains in the work order history regardless of assignment changes.
Only admins and managers can assign work orders. Employees are notified automatically when a new job is assigned to them.
